ETO NA ANG HULING SOLUSYON SA MARAWl – PANOORIN

Government forces believe they have mostly reclaimed areas and hostages taken by the Maute-ISIS group, chiefly their makeshift command center of the Bato Mosque and Father Chito Suganob.

Despite their successes, the Maute group reportedly still has 40 to 60 hostages left and are forcing some of them fight government forces.

Joint Task Force Marawi Deputy Commander Col. Romeo Brawner said the civilians who fight the government troops will be treated as combatants.

“If they are bearing arms and they are fighting government forces, then they are considered combatants and they will be treated as such,” Brawner explained.
